With the dawn of 1959 the cinema acquires its own personality. In March of that same year, Law 169 promulgated by the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC) was enacted, which would assume full control of the production, exhibition and distribution of everything related to this sphere in the national territory.
