The Genetics and Livestock Registration Office is one of the specific functions of the Ministry of Agriculture and its mission:
Propose, implement and control the policy for animal genetic development, preservation of the genofondo, animal genetic resources, import and use of genetic material, procedures for registration and control of the livestock mass, registration of pure breeds and their crossings, identification systems and information control of herds.
For the fulfillment of our mission and functions we have a network of 42 Livestock Registries distributed throughout the province for the attention of all owners of livestock with the aim of updating all livestock events as well as other formalities that we provide that are based on Law No. 1279/1974 (Livestock Regsitros and National Registry of Purebred Animals and their Crossings) where in one of its Por Cuanto states that:
WHEREAS: The registration of livestock in the Livestock Register and the updating of their movement, births, deaths, losses or misplacements and transfers, has as its main function to ensure that farmers and other private to credit their property rights, as well as to facilitate the corresponding agencies of the national economy to have a better and more complete knowledge of the country's livestock mass, to promote its energetic development and growth.
