The Guanahacabibes Peninsula Biosphere Reserve is one of the Cuban protected area with international significance where fauna and landscape values stand out, very attractive for visitors who wish to visit the place and practice nature tourism.

The territory is characterized by the combination of several landscape units that confer this category. It stands out the great variety of vegetable formations of which approximately 20% have some category of endemism, including the local endemics. The existence of various types of orchids in different areas also enhances the natural beauty.

The terrestrial fauna is represented mainly by species of reptiles, birds and mammals. The monitoring and protection of the natural resources of flora and fauna, both terrestrial and marine, allows the specialists who work there to conduct scientific research for years with very positive results and a high level of scientificity.

This facilitates the improvement of the management plan, public use and surveillance of the existing wealth in Guanahacabibes. For this reason, every year the number of Cuban and foreign visitors increases, who prefer to admire the marine landscapes of the Guanahacabibes Peninsula.
